Q & R: Who is your intended audience?
Here’s the Q:
My weekly theological discussion group just completed a ten week study of your thought provoking, insightful and well written book The Great Spiritual Migration. Our group could identify the main theme of each chapter but had differing ideas as to your overall target audience(s). Since none of our members are activists, politicians or current pastors would you please clarify for us your primary audience and sub-audiences?
Here’s the R:
Thanks for your question. I think you and your group are my primary audience. Activists, politicians, and pastors are important, but my hope is that normal people – people like you – will come to understand that we are all called to be spiritual activists, in our families and neighborhoods, in our congregations and vocations, and in our nations and civilizations, each contributing to seeing God’s dreams come true for creation.

in the tens of thousands including women and children is not acceptable."
