Threats, Fear, Suspicion

Countdown Day 12:

If you dare depart from traditional identity categories – whether in the strong/hostile zone, in the weak/benign zone, or in the moderate zone in between – you will be seen with suspicion by your former colleagues in that zone…. In response, they may threaten you, hoping that fear will make you stay, not realizing that it will more likely drive you farther away. (Brian D.
